Public Adjuster Re-Coups 100% of Estimate for North Carolina Fire Claim
+ $2,500,000 INCREASE
A 72 unit apartment complex in Winston-Salem, North Carolina caught fire when a tenant left an unattended pot on the stove. Despite newer construction and a firewall, the fire spread rapidly. Twenty-four units were severely damaged. Due to the size and complexity of the damage, the owner interviewed public adjuster firms to assist with his fire insurance claim.
Insurance Claim Consultants, headquartered in Tampa, was hired. Public adjuster, Robert, lead the team of fire damage specialists who traveled to Winston-Salem, NC to assess the damage and compile a comprehensive claim estimate package. Although a firewall in the attic system separated the units, there was a large hole that allowed smoke to enter the attic area above many of the units. Much of the smoke damage was hidden and hard to find at first inspection.
Our fire damage specialists and insurance adjusters all agreed that all the units affected would require truss cleaning and insulation. The steel stairs, landings and bricks on the front elevation were also damaged from the fire and need replacement.
At first inspection, the adjuster sent out by the insurance company adjuster disagreed with our position and bid for cheaper materials and non-action on certain damage. After solid documentation complied by our team, the insurance company paid the full estimate of fire damages. To that, the total turn-around time from when our public adjuster team was hired to when settlement was agreed upon was 94 days—very efficient for a fire damage claim, let alone one of this size and complexity.
